A PDO thread lift is for people who aren’t interested in an invasive procedure, but would still like to improve their appearance and take years off of their face. A PDO thread lift is basically a non-surgical facelift where the skin is lifted and tightened using polydioxanone (PDO) threads that are anchored and inserted into different layers of the skin with needles. With anywhere from 1-15 threads used in each section, this will automatically tighten and lift the skin.
There are three types of PDO threads: mono, cog, and screw. Each type is designed for a different treatment and use. Mono textured threads are suitable for most patients that are looking for skin tightening and a rejuvenated look.
In order to create as little discomfort as possible, the skin will be anesthetized before treatment. The process is minimally invasive and recovery time is short. You can get back to regular activity as soon as one week after your procedure.
A PDO thread lift involves stimulating the collagen production of your skin, which then lifts it and improves its texture via cellular renewal. It can reduce the fine lines on your face and wrinkles as well, especially over time as additional collagen is used. For most patients, the PDO threads often dissolve within six months. But thanks to the collagen increase, the positive effects of a PDO thread lift last anywhere from 1-2 years. If you’d like to extend the results further, you can add more collagen as time goes on.
